Father Matthew is the Vicar of St. Luke’s, Milber and St. John’s, Bovey Tracey with Heathfield in South Devon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before ordination, Fr Matthew worked for the BBC and later for publishing and bookselling businesses in the development of digital communications including digital broadcasting, podcasting production, and e-book publication.  Having discerned a vocation to the priesthood, he earned a degree in theology from the University of Durham and prepared for ordination at Ripon College, Cuddesdon.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew is one of four ‘Vicars’ who were followed by the BBC Two series ‘A Vicar’s Life’<\/a> which aired in the early part of 2018 (and continues to be repeated).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Father Matthew Cashmore, Assistant Curate in West Hereford is fresh out of college and full of ideas – he wants to change the world or at least Hereford. Giving up a successful executive career, he sees God\u2019s spark in everyone and wants to help people find it for themselves. Determined to wear his ankle-length black cassock at all times, he\u2019s spent his first few months providing practical help and love to some of the most vulnerable and marginalised, including a homeless woman who had resorted to living on a roundabout and taking the fruits of the parish\u2019s harvest festival to the soup kitchens of the Calais refugee camps.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

Matthew has traveled by motorbike across Europe, Morocco, the Baltics, Russia, Australia and the US. He is also well known as one of the instrumental organisers of Hack Day<\/a>, Mashed<\/a> and Over the Air<\/a> developer events – his love of technology also hits the road; he tests out new kit and tech ideas along the way and shares his reviews across social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He enjoys blogging and making videos about life on the road, camp cooking<\/a> and faith. He raises money for charities along the way. His popular short films can be seen on YouTube<\/a> and his ramblings can be seen right here on his blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
