{"id":134,"date":"2008-01-05T13:26:31","date_gmt":"2008-01-05T13:26:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelondonbiker.com\/blog\/?p=134"},"modified":"2008-01-05T13:26:31","modified_gmt":"2008-01-05T13:26:31","slug":"dakar-is-gone-and-no-one-cares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelondonbiker.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/dakar-is-gone-and-no-one-cares\/","title":{"rendered":"Dakar is gone and no-one cares"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had to tune in to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rallyraidio.net\/\">Rally RAIDio<\/a> for the last couple of days to get the latest news and reactions to the Dakar being cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s amazed me is the total lack of interest from main stream media. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/sport1\/hi\/motorsport\/world_rally\/7171426.stm\">The BBC ran a story<\/a>, and even as it was breaking &#8216;Terrorists stop Dakar&#8217; it wasn&#8217;t even on the front page of BBC Sport. It did appear briefly on the front page of BBC News as a NIB (News In Brief).<\/p>\n<p>Baaaaaaa! I&#8217;m begining to sound like a minority sport fan&#8230;. but bloody hell come on this story is huge!!!!<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it really is just me.
