I say simple because it is at most a couple of hours work.<\/p>\n<p>For me, it&#8217;s turned into a nightmare.<\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; Couldn&#8217;t get the bolts off the sprocket.<br \/>\n2 &#8211; Couldn&#8217;t get the old chain off<br \/>\n3 &#8211; Sheared a bolt on the disk side of the rear wheel<br \/>\n4 &#8211; Tried to put the chain on with too many links in<br \/>\n5 &#8211; Couldn&#8217;t get excess links out of new chain<br \/>\n6 &#8211; Took too many links out of new chain leaving me with a \u00a350 for a new chain tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>So in total this job has cost me \u00a3300 in new tools, \u00a350 in parts, and extra \u00a350 for the new chain. <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think I can afford to service my own bike.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last couple of days have seem me desparately trying to do the very simple job of replacing my chain and sprockets.
