Test Map

I very rarely put up test posts but I can’t see another way of doing it – I’m trying to find a service that will allow me to build maps very easily then plant them in the site very easily.

Ian Forrester put me onto quickmaps – and that appears to work – well if you see a map below it’s worked.

Yes it is just a normal every day map… except it has some markers and if you click on the red one you’ll get a pop up with a photo in it. Now… in times gone by to do this you’d need to delve into the Google API stuff, build a data.xml file and then get into wonderful lines of code to draw the line… but in this case all I had to do was drag and drop some icons on a 3rd party site, then copy and paste some code straight into my blog…

Old way = technical knowledge + 30 mins
New way = no tech knowledge + 2 mins

Matt — I don’t see a map. Has it disappeared or is it my system (Mac/ Safari)? Boy oh boy do I need a working map.

Thanks for the steer from the HUBB.
